Thanks to their high precision and power density, cycloidal gears are a guarantee for efficiency, performance, and reliability, which makes them ideal for future-proof production and logistics processes.

Robot technology for everyone

In particular, the robot grew substantially in 2023. The motors of growth included battery production for electric vehicles and medical technology. Plug-and-play gears such as the Neco® (modular servo gears), Neco®HT (robust high-torque gears) and RD-C (flexible hollow shaft gears) series were again in great demand, as were the virtually zero backlash rotary indexers of the RS series, as well as the compact drive unit with a Mecanum wheel. “Our goal is robot technology for everyone. Our high-precision, robust and durable cycloidal gears allow even SMEs to advance their automation with little effort and without special expertise,” explains Daniel Obladen, Head of Sales General Industries at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH. Cycloidal gears feature high torsional rigidity and low backlash (max. hysteresis loss of 0.5 to 1 arcmin) and guarantee high positioning and rotational speed accuracy even at tremendous speeds and accelerations. This makes it possible to shorten machining times, improve product quality, boost productivity and lower costs.

Expansion of production capacities

By the way: Just recently, Nabtesco was again distinguished by kununu as one of Germany’s best employers and will receive the “kununu Top Company 2024” seal – with a recommendation rate of 100%.

And what are the expectations for 2024? “In view of the slack world economy, our outlook for 2024 is, of course, somewhat cautious. Nevertheless, we are optimistic for the coming year and continue to invest in technologies, production facilities, and employees. We are making good progress with the construction of our third production site in Hamamatsu, Japan. By 2030, this will double our production capacity to two million precision gears per year, which means we will be optimally prepared for the continuously increasing demand.”
