CV-EPS
Steer-by-wire platform for heavy commercial vehicles
CV-EPS (CV-EPS = Commercial Vehicle Electronic Power Steering) is a modular steer-by-wire platform for autonomous driving (mechanical construction kit with software-based customizing). The innovative steering actuators - developed in collaboration with adcos, a software and hardware expert and Nabtesco Group company - open up completely new possibilities in the development of pioneering transportation concepts and are an important building block for the mobility of the future.
Innovative steering technology
Steer-by-wire systems transfer the steering movement from the steering wheel to the wheel axle electronically. This offers considerable advantages in terms of installation space, design freedom, safety, comfort and functionality. The innovative steering technology enables a new variety of functions as well as the optimal integration of assistance systems and paves the way for higher levels of automation up to fully autonomous driving at level 5.
The steer-by-wire platform has a modular structure. It consists of a cycloidal gearbox specially adapted to vehicle construction, a specially designed two-channel motor, a control unit and a sophisticated steering algorithm and has been designed and industrialized so that it can be integrated into a wide variety of commercial vehicles. All safety-relevant elements are redundant. The steering feel can be customized
Steer-by-wire platform for the high-voltage sector
AxCu (Axle steering Control Unit) is a system for 400 to 800 volts and is precisely tailored for use in the high-voltage platforms of e-mobility. The steering actuator has been in use on several SRT lines in China's public transport system since 2022 - SRT is an electrically powered multi-articulated bus for high-capacity urban passenger transport - and can now boast more than one million kilometers driven.
Steer-by-wire platform for the low-voltage range
Thanks to state-of-the-art motor technology, innovative control software, compact dimensions and low weight, the low-voltage solution (24 to 48 volts) is perfectly optimized for use in trucks, lorries and buses. The steering actuator is available for both right-hand drive and left-hand drive vehicles and can be installed horizontally (trucks & lorries) or vertically (buses).
